Roland Hettige is an ENT Surgeon with a sub specialist interest in Nasal Conditions (Rhinology).
He did his training in London and Oxford, focussing on his specialist areas of interest in adult and paediatric nasal conditions. He undertook a sub-specialty fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, and then an advanced fellowship in London (Guys, King’s, St Thomas’s and the Evelina Childrens' Hospital).
He is the lead clinician in the trust for Septorhinoplasty (Functional & Cosmetic ‘nose-jobs'), nasal allergy and infections, endoscopic sinus surgery, nasal blockage, snoring and sleep apnoea. Within his practice he sees referrals from all areas in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and the surrounding boroughs, including London. Following his Masters in Healthcare Leadership he enjoys taking on management roles for the trust such as in the executive committee for clinical excellence and audit, the electronic data management and consent committees.
He is a member of the British and European Rhinological Societies, and has been invited to speak at a number of different courses and conferences, including recently chairing a panel on nasal surgery, in London. He is also a member of the ENT-UK Facial Plastics society, as well as the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal Society of Medicine. He has been a leading international researcher on outcomes in chronic rhino-sinusitis and has published over 20 articles in leading peer-reviewed journals.
He is married with 2 children and outside of medicine he enjoys an active lifestyle playing football, tennis, and clay pigeon shooting.
